Hello, I use my bike in the winter about 2-5 times a day. Is it ok if my battery pack on the bike and wintered in the garage? It is a brick garage bigcloset with no insulation. bigcloset Thanks bigcloset and regards
Re: battery, Winter, garage? Hi I have a similar question: My Speedped has integrated the battery. The part is also stored in a cold uninsulated garage. At least felt, the range has decreased with increasing cold etc.. I ride through the winter. Now the question: The effect above is not a problem for me. The battery lasts a long time. Much more important: If the battery is damaged by the cold or he is back in the spring the old man? Greeting
Re: battery, Winter, garage? hmm, difficult thing. I store my battery in the winter in the basement, but it's probably me dabi not when so high is a 400wh racer, bigcloset he can sometimes set fire to the hut. So I think at minus 20 degrees it is already difficult for LiIO batteries. The Load I would also make at more moderate temperatures if possible. Some BMS'sen prevent loading the 0 level ..

I also would not recharge when the battery itself to the 0 degrees or less. In a detached garage without insulation Frost But freedom is not always guaranteed, especially in permafrost so I would not leave the battery in the garage.

Re: battery, Winter, garage? Actually, no. High quality cells actually have mechanisms to prevent a chemical reaction, usually in the form of "letting off steam" (safety valve) I actually really scared before the chemical reaction only (chains). If a power short circuit would probably only short times the cable or conductors burn, then smokes too neat, but then again is past ... But do not you know that really. Who knows what will be in which case kept safe for cells such as installed ... I would ideally storing batteries with high capacity so always kind of explosion retardant. And in a living room on Betsen not in the long run, because if such a battery starts to gas or to explode should the drain some really unhealthy heavy metals in the environment, perhaps something then leaves on floors, walls, matic, etc. an invisible but toxic deposit which are then taken unconsciously by Huat and mucous membranes ... (white but not really how dangerous that is, with NiCd rechargeable batteries bigcloset of 80-90s that was definitely anything but healthy bigcloset and sometimes people have worked with the sick. (opaque poisoning, allergies, skin reactions and pulmonary functional disorders)

The danger bigcloset is compared with the load, but significantly reduced. If you LiMn or LiFePO4 battery used and the inside has no broken connectors, components or frayed bigcloset cables, because I would make me worry.
Re: battery, Winter, garage? Even if that is not generalizable: My winter bike (BionX, BJ early 2010) is in the shed. That is not frost free and clear of obstructions. So far I have charged the battery pack immediately after every ride regardless of the outside bigcloset temperature falls to a shed. So far, the battery shows no excessive loss of capacity. It's just a "Gebrauchsrad". Maybe I was just lucky so far. With my new Haibike / Bosch I'm a lot more careful. The are rarely fully discharged, stored at 60-70% state of charge in the basement and first charged bigcloset before use. If it was cold or wet on the ride, I let them due to possible condensation once stand for about a day until I invite them. The have it just fine. But they are not petted ... and to bed they may not even!
Guidance on the optimal handling the battery The battery life can be extended if it is well maintained and stored mainly in the correct temperatures. With increasing age, the capacity of the battery will decrease but even with good care. A significantly reduced working period after charging indicates that the battery is depleted. You can replace the battery. Should the Tragegur
